How to set up AI recommended Upsells?

Summary

In the Upsells features, there are 2 methods to set up upsell products. One is by manually creating upsell offer, and the second is to have it automatically set up using the data from Shopify Search & Discovery.

For people who have used Shopify Search & Discovery already, it is recommended that you choose to set up upsell products by "Use AI recommended upsells" option as it saves more time setting up the upsells comparing to creating manual offers.

You can select either "Complementary" or "Related" option and it takes the data from the app > Recommendations.

By default, the "Complementary products" column is empty and has to be configured manually, only the "Related products" has data gathered from customers' behaviour. Click here to see in details how recommendations in this app work.

Steps to set up AI recommended Upsells

Step 1:

To edit the Complementary products and Related products of each product, please navigate to Recommendations page > Find the product you want to edit and click the row.

If the main product is not available > Click "Add recommendations".

Step 2:

Both sections "Edit complementary products" and "Edit related products" have the "Browse" button for you to select the products from your product list.

Click "Browse", tick the products you want to suggest and click "Add".

For related products, the data has been auto-generated, however, you can customize by ticking "Hide auto-generated recommendations" at the bottom of the page and choose recommended products upon your preferences.

Hit "Save" to finalize the setup.
